Paolo began to be involved with venture capital in 1998 when he became the investment manager of FinTech Spa and made investments in the ICT sector while collaborating with the prestigious CSELT, the Telecom Italia research center. Later on he founded and managed Jupiter Venture, a venture capital fund devoted to digital economy and promoted by Gruppo Banca Sella. Jupiter Venture has invested in many successful businesses, among which Mutuionline, which he developed from a startup to a firm listed on the stock exchange, as well as Energit, Objectway, and OnlineSIM. Jupiter Venture closed in 2009 with a more than 23% internal rate of return and a portfolio return of 6X. From 2007 to 2010 Paolo also managed the fund for 360 capital partners and, in 2010, he founded JVcapital Spa which, in February 2013, became United Ventures.
Previously Paolo was assistant to the managing director of FerFina Holding where he took part in various M&A operations and in one of the most important privatizations in the building sector (Condotte d’Acqua Spa). He began his professional career and developed his proficiency as administrator and controller in KPMG where he worked from 1991 to 1994 as auditor in the Turin office. A graduate in economy and commerce from Turin University, he is registered with the association of auditors. He is often invited to speak at the Milan Polytechnic and Bocconi University in Milan about venture capital and entrepreneurship.
