Result of the 8th edition of Premio Gaetano Marzotto

Great participation to the Premio Gaetano Marzotto that closes with more than 20% applications compared to last year: 616 sent projects in 2018, between Company Prize and Company Idea Prize.

 Now the screening phase is opening with more than 100 evaluators. «The Italian system innovation is vital and dynamic. This is shown by the 600 realities that have applied to the Premio Gaetano Marzotto with a very articulated and punctual announcement. – declares Cristiano Seganfreddo, Director of Progetto Marzotto – With more than 400 ideas, it has been a great explosion of proposals from companies at their early stage. It means that there is a desire of innovation at each level. The country tries to find any possible way with a technological incentive. These are very meaningful signs that must be supported. Who wants to stay in Italy wants to renew and see the future». The amount of applications for the Company Prize remains the same of last year, instead the eight edition of the Prize sees a great participation of the companies still at their early stage.

Lombardia is confirmed to be the region with more applications both from Company Prize and Company Idea Prize. Followed by Emilia Romagna, Lazio and Veneto for Company Prize; Emilia Romagna, Lazio and Sicily for Company Idea Prize, Bio/Med/Life Sciences/Health is the sector with more sent projects. Followed by Industry 4.0 and Entertainment/Educational for Company Prize; Agro/Food Tech, ICT/IOT Tech for Company Idea Prize.

Meanwhile the innovative entrepreneur identikit finds an increase of participation by women (59% for Company Prize, 44% for Company Idea Prize) and an average age around 37 years old.

From today until the 22nd of November more than 100 evaluators – from businessmen, researchers, investors, journalists and specialists of innovation- will be committed in the screening phase in order to pinpoint the winners of the over two millions of euros in prize money and support for the 15 competition’s categories: Company Prize, Company Idea Prize, Accenture Special Prize, Amazon Launchpad Award, Amazon Web Services Special Prize, Capitol One | Copernico | Marzotto Venture Accelerator Special Prize, Cisco Special Prize, Corporate Fast Track Special Prize, Engineering Ingegneria Informatica Special Prize, EY Special Prize, Invitalia Special Prize, Italcementi | HeidelbergCement Group Special Prize, Microsoft Special Prize, Repower Special Prize, UniCredit Start Lab Special Prize.
